This economy and recession has hit extremely hard in this industry. Profits are down for service providers, law firms and corporations. With that layoffs are high. Some law firms have hiring and spending freezes. Most will last at least thru the end of the year. Budgets for conferences, software and even more importantly training are close to non-existent.
The question becomes what do these firms and even service providers now do when training is not in the budget? Where can they go to receive training or more information on doing their job? Where can they get education to bridge the gap until 2010 when hopefully the economy will recover? What options are available to the paralegals and litigation support staff at law firms? What options are there for those working as engineers and sales staff at service providers?
Where can an individual needing more information and education gather some knowledge? To great place to get an answer to specific questions in litigation support are the yahoo lit support boards. I highly recommend litsupport and litigation support groups. What if you are unemployed currently and cannot afford training? Yet, you need more education to garner more skills and re-attack the job market?
Electronic discovery education training should be ongoing but because of the economy that is not possible. Those in this industry should be able to fully understand the EDRM model as well as articulate it to others. With this issue at hand I have decided to take matters into my own hand. I will be offering certain webinars and materials either free of charge or at an incredibly reduced rate to the people in dire need of this information. For the next three months I am going to drastically cut prices of electronic discovery education materials. The EDD101 comprised of 12 prerecorded webinar topics will be slashed to a price that is affordable to all. EDD150 which is a 2 day class of prerecorded webinars, podcasts and exam will also be drastically cut. If you are unemployed we will work with you on getting the education you so desperately seek.
